Sizing Up: Big Still Life

IN PERSON. Scottsdale Artists' School, March 29 - April 2, 

Have you some experience with painting still life, and are wondering how to approach a bigger painting? Let's work through the stages of a big painting. Our paintings start with an idea and the placement of objects, then we'll do a 6x8" value study, and then find full expression on a stretched canvas or rigid panel (anywhere from 16x20" to 24x30", your choice.) You may elect to work on two different size paintings, alternating from one to the other as attention allows (consider doing two versions of one setup). Bring your full palette and some bigger brushes. If there's any particular object you want to include in your painting, rather than using what's in the studio closet, please bring it with you.
